Nabs and A Cola

One of the finer delicacies of the South, especially in the Carolinas, is the afternoon break with a pack of Nabs and a Cola. To define - that would be peanut butter crackers and a Pepsi Cola or perhaps a Coca Cola. The term “Nabs” actually originated in 1924 when the National Biscuit Company introduced a snack, that was put in a 5-cent sealed packet called “peanut sandwich packet”. Today, many snack cracker products manufactured by Lance, Incorporated are commonly referred to as “Nabs”. From Captain’s Wafers, Nekots and Toast Chee’s the snack crackers are alive and well and are being made in Charlotte, North Carolina. Chays Slassor who works at Lance was happy to see the Piedmont Delivery Service vehicle at his doorstep this week. He needed a part and needed it rushed to him to get his line back up and running. Not a problem, the night time delivery is a hallmark of our excellent service and we call that The Piedmont Difference!
