Georgia-Pacific is enlarging its footprint in Alcolu, South Carolina to the tune of 20 million dollars. They are building what’s called a third strander, and once on-line there will be an increase in logging trucks arriving in Clarendon County and trucks leaving with finished goods. The mill is Georgia-Pacific’s OSB facility - which stands for oriented strand board. OSB is widely used and is a versatile engineered wood panel using waterproof adhesives. Think plywood that resists deflection, warping and distortion. Herb Holladay needed not one, but three large motors. Piedmont Delivery Service hustled towards the coast of South Carolina to Clarendon County with motors in tow to help out our customers at Georgia-Pacific.
