Ham It Up

Your Thanksgiving meal may include a delicious ham—and if you live in the Carolinas, there’s a good chance it came from the Smithfield Fresh Meats facility in Tar Heel, North Carolina. As the world’s largest pork processing plant, Smithfield’s Tar Heel operation spans an incredible 985,000 square feet and has been feeding families since it first opened in 1992.

Recently, Lonnie White with Smithfield needed several small but essential parts to keep operations running smoothly. He knew exactly who to call. Piedmont Delivery Service had the parts loaded and delivered straight to their doorstep at 8:36 p.m., keeping production on track during one of the busiest seasons of the year.
