Kentucky’s Native Soda

If you know anything about the state of Kentucky, you probably are familiar with its national treasures, thoroughbred horses, and bourbon. But did you know it’s famous for its green bottled soft drink Ale-8-One. Yep, that dates back to the 1920’s discovered and bottled in Winchester, Kentucky. The name of the drink was the result of a contest and the winning entry Ale-8-One is a pun of the phrase suggesting that it was “the latest thing in soft drinks”. Stacey Overholser needed a large motor Monday and Piedmont Delivery Service was dispatched to the Bluegrass state. Our driver pulled up to the bottling facility at 6:16pm with the motor onboard. Cheers to another bottle of Ale-8 and Piedmont Delivery at your Service!
