KyKenKee is a family run industrial wood products company that dates back to the 1900’s. In 1980, the name was changed to KyKenKee, which has an interesting heritage. It’s the names of the three brothers who built the company, Kyle, Kendall and Keefe. Today, the company manufactures hardwoods and Southern Yellow Pine, as well as specialty cut items such as wood chips and bark. Just a few years ago, the company invested more than $28 million dollars at the Vance, Alabama plant, creating new jobs and expanding its footprint. Friday night is never a great time to need a motor, but that’s exactly what happened at KyKenKee. Fortunately Jimmy Allen knew who to call, so our driver at Piedmont Delivery Service hit the road and made it through rush hour traffic to Alabama. We pulled up on time at 9:00pm on Friday night.
