All in a Day’s Work

We all have a new appreciation for paper towels and bathroom tissue. Georgia-Pacific produces Brawny and Sparkle brands along with Angel Soft and Quilted Northern bathroom tissue. The Brawny Man and its cohorts have southern roots, founded in Augusta, Georgia in the 1920’s. Now Georgia-Pacific boasts 300 locations worldwide. Just a couple of years ago Georgia-Pacific spent 400 million dollars to expand its paper and pulp mill in a small town in Northeast Florida.

The addition was timely as it added a new papermaking complex just a few miles northwest of Palatka to make tissue and paper towels. Who would have projected the heightened demand in 2020. Recently on a Saturday night, Piedmont Delivery Service got the call that the plant in Palatka needed a small part. With close to one thousand employees on site, Jacqui Clark was happy to see our driver make the delivery at 5:54am Sunday morning. 

And just a friendly reminder for this weekend, don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour as we “fall back” with the end of Daylight Saving Time.
