A Day on the Farm

For more than 70 years, Wayne Farms has called the Southeast home, with 11 facilities dotted across the region. Their farmers are their partners, all with a unique story of their own. In fact, Wayne Farms is the seventh-largest vertically integrated poultry producer in the U.S. Annual sales total more than 2 billion dollars. In Dothan, Alabama, the Wayne Farms facility dates back to 1968, where it has changed hands a few times. Now they employ more than 1,000 people, housed in a large 200,000 square foot facility. Sherry Bolding reached out to Piedmont Delivery Service needing a part on a Thursday night. We were able to pick up the part and head down the road to southern Alabama, arriving at 12:50am. One might say we were up with the chickens.
