The carpet and flooring industry has deep roots in Dalton, Georgia. For years Lexmark Carpet Mills was an industry leader in producing high quality carpet, primarily for the North American hospitality market. That’s until Paris-based Tarkett recently acquired Lexmark and moved its North American operations to Dalton, Georgia and Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Tarkett USA is a global manufacturer of flooring and sports surface products, selling 1.3 million square meters of flooring every day to hospitals, schools, hotels, stores and sports fields. J.B. Bridges with Tarkett USA Tandus needed a small part on a Thursday afternoon. It just happened to be during the week of July 4th and holiday traffic in and around Atlanta, Georgia was as expected, busy.
