Are you familiar with the term biomass? Biomass is plant matter containing stored solar energy. Did you know the amount of sunlight that reaches the earth’s surface during one hour is enough to power the entire world for one year. That’s the basis of the company Zilkha Biomass Energy. Think of sunlight feeding trees and plants and storing this as would a battery. Zilkha Biomass Energy uses our solar batteries to create Zilkha Black Pellets, a fuel substitute for coal. The first full scale commercial Black pellet facility in the world opened in 2015 and is located in Selma, Alabama. That’s where Piedmont Delivery Service was sent to deliver a large motor on a Wednesday night. We know from many of our customers, having a 24 hour delivery service on call, is the difference between getting a manufacturing plant back up and running. As promised, our driver delivered the motor at midnight. Piedmont Delivery Service, happy to keep our solar energy shining bright.
