Mention the name IKEA and most have heard of the massive reasonably priced home furnishings store. IKEA was founded in Sweden in the 1940’s and its first manufacturing facility in the United States was built about ten years ago in Virginia. The 930 thousand square foot factory produces a variety of wood based IKEA products such as bookshelves, coffee tables and their popular modular entertainment centers. Nathan Waldren with the IKEA facility in Virginia needed a small electrical part and as with most of our customers he needed it now. So not to keep him waiting, we picked up the part and drove it to Virginia. The next time you are in an IKEA store, we are happy to say Piedmont Delivery Service had a small hand in helping IKEA and its mission to Love Your Home.
