To Have Your Cake and Eat it Too

Bowling Green, Kentucky is the home of one of Kroger’s manufacturing plants, Country Oven Bakery. Just a few years ago, the plant expanded with a 25 million dollar price tag. A new high speed cake line was a part of that expansion. Baked goods such as bread, rolls, cookies and layer cakes are now rolling out of that facility. The plant works three shifts, six days a week, so there is little down time for a faulty part. But that’s exactly what happened. Chris Elmore needed a motor on a Monday night, so Piedmont Delivery Service was called to deliver it pronto. And since our delivery service spans the southeast, that’s precisely what our driver did at 10:20pm…. With workers waiting at the door, the motor was delivered.
