A Winning Combination

What was formerly Wheelabrator Technologies is now WIN Waste Innovations. So what is that you might ask? Think of a company that takes pride in collecting, hauling and handling your waste and then responsibly recycles it. James Sutton recently contacted Piedmont Delivery Service when the company needed some parts on a Thursday afternoon. He’s with the Wheelabrator Portsmouth, Virginia waste-to-energy facility. It’s here the facility disposes of more than 23 hundred tons per day of post-recycled waste. Then the facility uses the waste as a local fuel to generate electricity for the local utility, while also providing steam to meet the needs of the neighboring U.S. Navy shipyard in Norfolk. A winning combination indeed, and Piedmont Delivery Service is appreciative of the opportunity to lend a helping hand.
