Did you catch this year’s Kentucky Derby? This year’s horse race, which is always held on the first Saturday in May, was a little soggy. Sovereignty clinched the race, bypassing the favorite, Journalism, down the stretch to win the 151st Kentucky Derby. Red roses adorn the winner, and free-flowing mint juleps are the drink of choice with the trademark Kentucky bourbon. A week before the race, Buffalo Trace Distillery, an award-winning bourbon distillery in Frankfurt, Kentucky, needed a motor to keep the operation running smoothly. John Gould reached out to Piedmont Delivery Service, and we were pulling up to the distillery at 3:30 p.m. with the much-needed motor.
Cheers to what’s fondly called “the greatest two minutes in sports”!
