Keeping SmartLam Moving

In Dothan, Alabama, SmartLam produces mass timber in one of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. So what is SmartLam? It just happens to be one of the first certified manufacturers of CLT ( cross-laminated timber) in North America. The company recently invested 60 million dollars in a new facility next to its existing plant. The new operation produces what’s called “glulam,” which is glued, laminated timber that bonds boards, or “lams,” to create a product that can be as strong as steel. When SmartLam’s Kenneth Stimpson needed critical parts delivered, he reached out to Piedmont Delivery Service. Our driver quickly got on the road and headed south to Dothan, Alabama. We arrrived with our same-day delivery at 9:09 p.m.
