A Dash of Salt
There is a lot more to Morton Salt than the familiar blue box we use at the dinner table. Besides flavoring food, salt is used to make roads and sidewalks safer, not to mention improving the water in baths, pools and homes. The story of Morton Salt dates back to the 1800’s where it was founded in Chicago. A lot has happened in the past 171 years, where the smiling Morton Salt girl remains the face of the brand. Morton now has more than 20 production facilities across the U.S., Canada and the Bahamas. One of Morton’s Solar sites is located in Port Canaveral, Florida. That’s where the ocean plays a role making water softening salt, packaged ice melts and food grade sea salt. J. Jones at the Port Canaveral site needed a motor to get them back up and running. It wasn’t a mad dash, but our driver at Piedmont Delivery Service was able to head south and deliver the motor at 5am Saturday morning. Keeping the Morton Salt girl smiling is what we call The Piedmont Difference!
